accessories photoshoot! (part 1)

Recently I met with Joanna Carson Skead, manager at Handworks Gallery, to collaborate on an accessories photoshoot and display some of the beautifully crafted jewelry they have in-store. Handworks Gallery, located in uptown Saint John, carries works created by over 80 artisans in New Brunswick. They carry an assortment of one-of-a-kind pieces that include pottery, jewelry, wood turning, blown glass, photography, paintings.

Choosing a number of beautiful pices from their glass cabinets, I had such a difficult time narrowing down my favourite pieces for the photo shoot- I fell in love with so many! After selecting half a dozen looks, Joanna and I took to the beautiful lobby in Center Beam Place to photograph the jewelry, styled with my outfit. All photos were taken by Joanna with my camera- we had fun picking out the different structural and textile elements in the lobby to use as backdrops!

My favourite piece out of all the selections above would have to be the sterling stud earrings by Jeneca Klausen. It wasn't displayed in the pictures above, but one of the studs is actually intentionally larger than the other (with the larger one being featured in the photographs). mother nature...

I appologize for the lack in blog posts last week- my laptop was attacked by a virus and frustatingly enough I wasn't able to remove it myself. I took my computer over to Cyber Solutions on the lower west side, and after paying double for priority service, my baby was back in my hands in less than 24 hours. All I have to say is beware of the Win 7 Anti-Spyware virus- it's a hoax that hackers have set up to get you to buy their program online that will supposedly wipe your system of viruses you supposedly- but actually do not- have. Even if you're like me and aware enough not to fall for this scam, it still interupts everything you do on your computer and doesn't allow you to open some programs. Frustrating indeed. Thankfully I'm back into the blogging swing of things!

This outfit I wore a couple of weeks ago to have coffee with Natalie from Manchester Shoe Salon uptown at Starbucks. Of course, this was followed by typical browsing of the uptown shops. I'm happy to say that I'm slowly phasing out this winter coat. In fact, yesterday I was out running errands only wearing a cardigan over my tank top! It's officially starting to feel like spring!

Sean McGrath Photo Shoot (Part 1)

Saturday afternoon I met up with local photographer, Sean McGrath, for a photo shoot in uptown Saint John. This outfit he shot atop the Brunswick Square parking garage. As you notice the wind blowing through my hair and my skirt, I can tell you it was not a warm breeze! I likely looked ridiculous dancing and spinning around to keep warm in between shots! The photo shoot was a lot of fun and flowed seamlessly. Sean was great to work with!

Despite the fact that we're buried under abour 3 feet of snow, and I was stranded in my house today due to the fact that I couldn't get the car beyond the driveway...I can't stop mesmerizing about spring fashion. Perhaps it's just me longing for those days in the foreseeable future that I don't have to wear about 8 layers or cover my outfit with a parka.
